Recognition As An Industry Leader
For the sixth consecutive year, UniCare's parent company, WellPoint, has been named America's Most Admired Healthcare Company by FORTUNE magazine in 2004. (The UniCare companies are separately capitalized and incorporated subsidiaries of WellPoint, Inc.). In addition to receiving the highest overall score in its industry, WellPoint also ranked first in its industry in quality of management, use of corporate assets, long-term investment, financial soundness and quality of products and services.
The list, which is compiled by the Hay Group, took the 10 largest companies (by revenues) in 66 industries. They then asked 10,000 executives, directors, and securities analysts to rate each of the companies within their own industry based upon their reputation in the following categories: innovation, financial soundness, employee talent, use of corporate assets, long-term investment value, social responsibility, quality of management and quality of products and services.
